VW Jetta 1.6Trendline costs 15.5Lac in Bangalore. 1.9TDI Trendline costs 17.0Lac and 1.9TDi Comfortline (A/T) Costs 20.0Lac.
Good competttor for Jetta could be a Skoda Octavia or Honda Civic.

Does anyone know how many Jettas Volkswagen sold in its launch month in July,or how many they sold in August, its first full month of sales.
This is going to be interesting.
It should be a very steady seller for VW .

Jetta cannot be compared to Hondacity or fiesta,is in competition with the Civic, camry,Laura, etc in these segement.I drove the car from Bangalore to Dharwad, distance of 465 Kms,excellent mileage of 20.23 kms/liter(at an average speed of 90-100kms/hr) diesel.Responds the way you think, sturdy & feels safe even at speeds of 145 kms/hour.worth for 17.6 lacs on road price

Taranjeet Singh (September 09, 2008, 15:22)
Yes,jetta looks cool loaded with good sum of safety and style in it.As VW is called as peoples car and i think the price tag should be below 10 lac. to 11 lac.so that can fight with both the segment's like verna & city and also with other segment of skoda and civic .add the specifications and test ride results.
V P Kumar (September 08, 2008, 17:32)
price tag is extra ordinary high simply it should not exceed than 10.5 to 12.00 that too inclusive of all taxes up to mumbai
Nikhil Busa (September 08, 2008, 10:43)

Ajay Aggarwal (September 07, 2008, 20:04)

Ahmed (September 07, 2008, 18:00)
The Jetta is in a class above the competitors you mention, and competes more with the Toyota Corolla and Camry, and Honda Civic and Accord.
Its much like a mini Passat, and BMW 3 series.
Is a huge seller world wide, should sell very well in India too, with lots of good looks, equipment and safety features.
Anthony (September 07, 2008, 16:39)
it looks to be a good car.
Is it in the segment of Verna and SX 4?
Or is it redefining the segment?
Dipankar Paul (September 07, 2008, 15:51)
i think the diesel version should compete with the Skoda and the laura....
with the pathetic service that Skoda has,, i am sure vw will do well
Madhav (September 07, 2008, 15:31)
Jetta giving competition to SX4???? These are very different segments.
