Mahindra and Renault have a 50-50 joint partnership in India, and Mahindra Renault Logan was the first car launched jointly by both the companies. This mid-size sedan belonging to the C-segment has the widest body in its class. This means the car has a lot of space inside. However, you should remember that this car is not about owning a expensive stylish car. It is an entry level sedan with all the basic features of mid-size sedan that delivers a mileage of 19kmpl. The car is extremely economical and was initially launched in 11 cities of India. Now the car is currently being exported to South Africa and is being sold as Renault Logan. Recently, Mahindra Renault launched Logan Edge as its successor. The company has taken in to consideration all the feedbacks from the customers and implemented and upgraded the car to suit the customers' wishes.

Designing of the new Logan is based on Renault's famous space optimization design. Since the brand name Renault is well known for its cars that deliver impressive and superior performance, you can expect a spacious and luxurious car in economic price band. Moreover, the boot space is also large enough and that makes a car quite practical and convenient too.

Logan is available in 1.4L and 1.6L petrol and 1.5L diesel engine. The common rail diesel engine delivers power of 65bhp at 4000rpm. The petrol engine delivers a power of 75bhp at 5500 rpm and torque is 110nm at 3000rpm. It delivers a displacement of 1390cc and has 4 cylinders and 8 valves. The diesel model takes 6.7 seconds to reach 60kmph and 18.7 seconds to get 100kmph. The car also delivers easy pick up and comfortable changing of gears.

Logan surely spells into comfort and space where interiors are concerned but the exteriors are still quite box shaped. It cannot be really counted as a stylish model but in few angles you can get the look of a Ford Ikon. It is available in six colours Toreador Red, Diamond White, Black, Mist Silver, Sahara Beige and Turf Green. If exteriors do not really impress you, then sink into the back seat. It is the only car in its segment with three head rest on the back seat. The front seats are also extremely wide to give comfortable seating which are attached with airbags just like other popular models. One of the specialities of a 1.5D Logan is that it is fitted with good NVH control. That means you do not have to bear the heavy engine noise that accompanies diesel models. However, you can hear the noise at lower speed. If you are looking for an entry level sedan in a budget range, Logan is good for you.

On the other hand, if you are buyer of stylish cars, you will find Logan as a little disappointment. The horn and clutch are quite hard. Also, there is no internal boot release. Now, that's a little shocking as even small cars have an internal boot release option. Considering the fact that Logan falls in the category of sedans, absence of this feature is noteworthy.

The Car Price of the model vary according to it petrol and diesel variants. An ex-showroom diesel model costs around Rs. 6.7 lakh whereas petrol model is available at Rs. 5.27 lakh.
