India shall witness the launch of new Honda City in the last week for September 2008. It shall be unveiled internationally for the first time today in Thailand. The new Honda City to hit the Indian shores shall come with 1.5 Litre VTEC engine as a standard with an option for automatic transmission.
Honda plans to change the sedan segment with the new jazzy features that come loaded in the new City variant. However, the new variant also comes with a price. It will be company's third avatar for the model which is the highest selling model in the company portfolio. It shall be newly designed with G-CON structure sporting a toned line up of its engine. Thailand version of the model comes with 16 inch alloys which have been reduced to 15 inch in the Indian model keeping in mind the Indian road conditions. Honda is also planning to launch its small car in India by December 2009. The much awaited hatchback model from Honda Siel Cars India will be launched based on their Jazz model which shall enable the company to stay competitive in the Indian market.
