Kuka Systems shall supply car body making parts to Volkswagen India for its production plant near Chakan, Pune. Volkswagen shall incorporate add-on components like door and flaps etc. to its existing three different models viz., Skoda Fabia and two editions of VW Polo.

Kuka Automation Equipment (India) Ltd. shall handle the project and has already set up its local branch in Pune. The new order shall be completed by the company in next 24 months. "India is a very fast growing market in the automotive sector. As a leading producer of high-end manufacturing systems it is of strategic importance for us to be present there“, says Dr. Stefan Soehn, CEO at KUKA Systems GmbH in Augsburg, Germany. "We feel excelled that we may to contribute to this great and important project of our valued customer Volkswagen AG. For decades we have had a very successful working relationship with this great car manufacturer."

Kuka Robotics (India) Private Limited is located in Gurgaon, India with a state of art Service and Training centre in Pune. It has already installed more than 600 robots in Indian market with its customer base expanding to Tata Motors, Indo Rama, Ashok Leyland, Reliance industries and many more.
