The mid-sized sedan, Fiat Linea, from Fiat India Private Limited, slated for launch in September may be delayed. According to Fiat's spokesperson, the company had planned its launch for September – December and it is looking at the right time to launch its model in India.

There are too many cars scheduled for a launch in September which might is one of the reasons that the company thinks it wiser to delay the launch a little bit. It aims to gain maximum customer attention when its new model is launched in India.

Fiat Linea

Other major companies like General Motors, Toyota, Ford and Honda shall be launching their new models in India this month which marks the beginning of the festive mood in the country. “We are industrially ready to launch the vehicle in September. However, too many launches in the same month has prompted us to rethink,” said the Fiat spokesperson.

Fiat also plans to delay the launch Grand Punto which was slated for launch in December. Now it shall be launched in early 2009. It has already made 30 bookings for its model Fiat 500. It has sold 10 units so far and the next 20 shall be available in 15 days.

Freinds & Foes, looks we have waited quite long. FIAT does not need any more respect. I have finally booked my new vehicle, and never to look at FIAT. My Best Wishes To FIAT Lovers.

Vincent,
Feel sorry for your friend. If possible, can you please highlight the product related problems she is facing.
Also, let's remember that an exception to the rule will always apply in any field so let's not be hasty in writing something off based on an extremely small sample size. Having said that,i for one do look forward to your inputs in order to disucss the issue/problems with people more qualified than myself.

Warning! Warning! Warning!
My friend abroad has purchashed Linea about 5 months back. And she says in her life cycle she had 4 cars earlier but had such bad experience as she has been undergoing with Linea. She recommend buy anything but Linea. Fiat delaying it because Fiat knows they don't want to spoil there name this time. ratan tata I hope you are listening as you have made Fiat your bed partner.

Seems like FIAT India is chicken. If they have a good product on offer they should take it to the competition. This shows signs of inferiority, cowardice and for those who have been patiently and eagerly awaiting the Linea - betrayal.

Sigh! old habits die hard.

I say, a paise more than an on-road price of Rs.10 lacs for a fully loaded Emotion+ variant of the Linea is a waste of our hard earned money

by delaying the launch fiat is only showing tat it is not sure of product being able to withstand the competition....if the product is good tit would rather pull custoers to it from others and if its not launched people would buy other cars and move on .tats the case wit me .-, i've delayed my purchase for it but how long can one wait...NO ONE IS GONNA WAIT TILL FIAT GETS ITS SO CALLED ''RIGHT TIME ''

Feastive season is the right time to launch new car.If there is further delay and drag it to next year, I thing they are going to loose market share.Regarding maximum attention of customer - for any new launch of car,it depends on Car itself [i.e.,Built quality, design, pricing, performance, mileage, after sales service.etc.]irrespective of no.of new launches at a particular point of time/period.Potential customer will not wait for indefinite period of time for Fiat only specially during festive season.I hope Fiat should consider all these before taking decision.

Fiat should not delay the launch of Linea as by doing so they strenghten the perception that Fiat is not able to get its act together. Its a consumers market in any case so why be afraid if others are launching too. Again,by delaying the launch Fiat is sending out the signal that it is not sure of its line-up. The season is now when consumers want to buy new cars,Fiat should move fast or else will end-up playing catch-up.Launch now and grab the share of mind...share of market will surely follow.

I am using Fiat Palio 1.9 diesel from last five years and have found it to be rough, tuff, maintance free & best car of this segment. I am very eagerly waiting for launch of Fiat Linea or Grand Punto to change my car. Fiat can be definitely leading brand if you have proper aftersales service arrangments.

Me too. A sure Fiat linea buyer if launched in September (before festive season). And if you see forums and my posts, I have been waiting for an almost a year. Fiat please launch it without delay. Linea will definitely get enough attention. If you launch after festival, that is even worse for you.

I MANISH WORKING IN AN AUTOMOBILE INDUSTRY OWN TATA INDIGO, AND FRANKLY SAYING THAT I HAVE BECOME LAUGHING STOCK FOR EVERYONE. I WAS EXPECTING THAT U'LL LAUNCH FIAT LINEA AND WILL CHANGE THE STANDARD OF THE PEOPLE. ITS A CUSTOMER REQUEST THAT PLEASE LAUNCH YOUR CAR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. THIS IS THE CAR WHICH WILL SHOW THE DOWNFALL TO DZIRE AND MAGNUM.I HAVE SEEN PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT FIAT ENGINES AND ARE WAITING TO DRIVE ONE.

I have been eagerly waiting for Fiat to launch its Linea, and wanted to book it during the festive season, but I am disappoined.
Fiat should not hesitate to launch it, its survival of the fittest !!!.
Linea is a beauty and brains and brawn put together, so why afraid, if it delays its launch, potential buyers like me will drift away, i have been holding my temptation for the last so many months.
I think its right time now to launch.
