Volvo India Private Limited was established in 1998 as a fully-owned subsidiary of Volvo, Sweden. It made investments to the core of USD 70 million and set up its manufacturing unit in Hoskote near Bangalore where it assembles heavy commercial trucks. It has its operations across India for trucks, buses, construction equipment, marine & industrial power systems.

It is the reputed Swedish luxury automobile maker, which was founded in 1927 in Gothenburg, Sweden. With a head office in New Delhi, Volvo Cars in India is an arm of Volvo Car Corporation worldwide.
Volvo currently sells its sedans and wagon models in India viz., C70, S80 and XC90 priced between Rs 38 - 45 lakhs. Paul de Vojis is the Managing Director or Volvo Cars India and the company is on an expansion mode. Volvo has its presence in Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Kochi, Chennai, Hyderabad and Chandigarh.
