The Japanese brand that is known for its reliability worldwide is Toyota. The brand is owned by Toyota Kirloskar Motors in India which is a joint venture between Toyota Motors from Japan and India’s Kirloskar Motors where Toyota Motors holds 89 percent equity of the company. Toyota Motors Corp is currently world’s second largest auto manufacturer but lacks a considerable market share in India. TKM entered the passenger car segment in India in 1997 and has sustained considerable growth in the Indian auto market.

Its brand of product models includes sedans like Toyota Corolla, Corolla Altis, Camry and SUVs Innova and Land Cruiser Prado. It recently launched Toyota Fortuner which has received 10 times more bookings than all the other SUVs cumulatively sold in any given month. Toyota Camry is a premium luxury car sedan that boasts of aerodynamic features coupled with an array of stylish and elegant external features. Toyota now intends to bring its small car Etios to India which is the country's most popular market segment. The new small car model will be ready by end-2010. Toyota India has also roped in the partnership of small car specialist Daihatsu Motor Co, which has built compact cars around the world to look at an even smaller car.

Further, rumour has it that Toyota India will also introduce its sedan model Yaris in the Indian auto market in the year 2010. Yaris is believed to have the look of the Corolla with impressive interior design equipped with finest quality materials. It will not be a sporty car but will offer a thrilling and sporty driving experience with a host of engine options.
