Hyundai Motors is South Korea’s largest car maker and sixth largest auto manufacturer in the world. Hyundai Motors India Limited is wholly owned subsidiary of Hyundai Motors. Hyundai Motors India Limited remains unbeatable with its largest car exports figures in India. It is not only the largest car exporter from India but also the second largest car manufacturer in the country.
HMIL currently manufactures at least 30 variants of various passenger car models in six segments. Santro falls in the B segment, Getz in the B+, the Accent in the C segment, Elantra in the D segment, Sonata Embera in the E segment and the Tucson in the SUV segment. It enthralled the Indian market with its model Santro in the B segment and Getz in B+ segment. Hyunda Accent is one of the best cars in the C segment while Sonata Embera remains unbeatable in the E segment of passenger cars. It dazzled the world again with the launch of i-series and Hyundai i10 in the small car segment was an instant runaway success for the company.
Now Hyundai is planning to bring its most successful SUV model Santa Fe in India. It has already launched the latest updated model in the overseas market which will hit the Indian market in 2010. Apart from its SUV, Hyunda is also planning to introduce the new Hyundai i40 in India which will replace Hyundai Sonata. The car is already launched in South Korea and is currently available only in Seoul. The final date of the launch in India is not revealed so far.
Hyundai rolled out more than 100,000 cars within 90 months of its inception in India and still remains a leader in the small car segment.
