TV Sundaram Iyengar and Sons limited (TVS) is the parent company for TVS group of companies which produces various automotive components two wheelers and other industrial products .The company was founded by T.V Sundaram Iyengar in 1911.The TVS group has its main factory at Padi, Tamil Nadu on the outskirts of Chennai.

 

The company has originated from Sundaram Clayton limited .Moped division, started in 1980.The first product that rolled out was %0cc moped with collaboration with Suzuki Motor company of Japan under the brand name of Indo-Suzuki Ltd later the name was changed to TVS Suzuki Ltd .This collaboration ended in 2001 and since then the name has been changed to TVS Motor company. The company has numerous brands in the market and boasts of high quality products.

 

Some of successful brands of the company are TVS Fiero, TVS Apache, and TVS Flame TVS Victor. Apart from motorcycles the brand has high quality products in the Scooterette segment as well. Some of the products in this segment are TVS Scooty KS, TVS Scooty pep, TVS Teens, TVS Streak. TVS has products in the Moped section as well such as TVS champ, TVS XV super, TVS XL Super heavy duty.

 

TVs Apache is currently available in four different variants .Apache 150, Apache RTRF1 160, Apache RTR 160 and Apache 180.

 

Designed primarily with racing approach it features a fuel injected 160 cc engine .It has speed of 0.60 km/h in 4.73 seconds 0-100 km/h in 15.07 seconds .It is capable of a top speed of around 120 km/sec and return 65km/l.

 

Another popular model is the TVS Flame-It has an Engine of 124.8 cc ,3 valves and four stroke configuration having a power of 10.5 bhp@7500rpm.
