Volkswagen plans to introduce its sedan Jetta in India in the month of August. The company has big expansion plans in the country and shall launch its hatchback model as well. Currently, its new sedan VW Jetta is set to make a debut in India in the month of August.
VW has been expanding its dealerships and distribution network in India. It has also been synergising its operations with different group companies Audi and Skoda It currently sells 7 brands in India including those of group companies.
"The VW brand is currently developing two cars based on the compact car 'Polo' platform, which could be rolled out from our Chakan facility by 2010. One will be a hatchback and the other will be a small sedan," said Volkswagen Group brand communications head Kurt Rippholz told PTI in Wolfsburg. ""Considering the growth that the Indian market has witnessed, the aim for the Volkswagen group is to have an overall market share of 10 per cent in the next 5-6 years," he added.
