Toyota is all geared to strengthen its presence in the Indian car market. It shall launch its all new Toyota Corolla by the end of 2008. The new model shall have sleeker body with fine exteriors and interiors too revved up to beat the competition from Honda Civic and Skoda Octavia in the D segment. The car is expected to be more aerodynamically efficient with refined edges and reshaped curves. The whole design has been developed in collaboration with styling studios in Turin, Italy.

Toyota is the world's largest car manufacturing company by sales, however, it has only 3 percent market share in India. Toyota Kirloskar Motor Managing Director Hiroshi Nakagawa plans to take Indian car segment more seriously and take up challenges of Indian car market more efficiently. He said that the new Corolla shall be launched in next few months.

Toyota currently has its manufacturing unit in Bangalore and plans to set up its second manufacturing facility near its existing one. It also aims to launch its own "small car" by the year 2010. The company shall invest further Rs. 1400 crores in its second manufacturing unit.
