Renault will soon debut its new Renault Clio at the Geneva Motor Show in March this year. The company will introduce the face lifted model which also inspires the latest Renault Megane model. The new model will have redesigned tail lamps and the newly styled bumper which now incorporates the reversing lights and fog lamps. Now the rumours are doing rounds that the new 2012 Renault Clio model may enter the Indian market along with Megane. Renault already showcased the Megane model at the recent Delhi Auto Expo 2010 where it stated that the model will be launched in India in next two years along with Renault Fluence.
Renault and Nissan already share a partnership in India and Nissan is ready to introduce its latest hatchback model Nissan Micra in India that has been exclusively developed for the emerging markets like India. The partnership between the two auto makers may eventually lead to sharing the platform for their compact cars, so that Renault models may share the platform with Nissan in India to develop small cars. Nissan will be launching its latest small car model Micra that will be developed on this platform. The French auto maker is already studying preferable choices for the Indian market. Thus, Renault Clio may end up being manufactured in India.
Renault Clio:

"We have a partnership with Nissan and Nissan has a platform for such type of car (compact car) and we can use that platform. We have some discussion over this," Renault Asia Africa Management Committee Executive Vice-President Katsumi Nakamura said.
On the other hand, the French President has intervened in Renault’s plans to manufacture Clio 4 in foreign countries. The French government owns 15 percent stake in Renault and now Renault's President Carlos Ghosn has assured the French President Nicholas Sarkozy that Clio will be partly manufactured in France and partly in Turkey. Clio is the most selling vehicle in France after Peugeot 207 and Renault Megane.
