Suzuki is ready to unveil hydrogen powered new Suzuki SX4 at the Tokyo Auto show later this month. Suzuki is planning to launch at least two environmentally friendly concepts at the upcoming auto show in Tokyo. Apart from hydrogen powered SX4 it will also launch plug-in hybrid version of its model Swift. The new Swift will mark Suzuki’s foray into the world of plug-in hybrid models. The Swift model will be able to cover at least 19 kms under all-electric power.

The SX4 fuel cell concept of SX4-FCV will use 80kW hydrogen fuel cells provided by General Motors but will also employ a hydrogen tank and capacitor from Suzuki engineering. This hydrogen storage tank compresses gas at 10,000 psi. it also features a light weight capacitor that also helps in regenerative braking apart from smoothening flow of electrons to the electric motor.
Suzuki is currently testing the new concept car in Japan but has not revealed any information about the model going in the production. Apart from these two alternative fuel cars, Suzuki also intends to launch a hydrogen-powered Burgman scooter and a similarly powered mobility scooter.
