The new Maruti Alto K-series model is on display at the celebrations at IIMS 2010 in Indonesia. It is the seventh generation model of the car that is expected to go on sale in India from next month. The new model will sport a
1.0L engine mated to CVT transmission for the Indonesian market but the Indian model will have 5-speed manual transmission option.
The new Maruti Alto has been dubbed as the K-10 model and features refreshed styling and interior changes as well. It sports a new gearbox, engine and suspension to handle added power to the car. The new Maruti Alto with
K-series engine is aimed towards people asking for more power but not necessarily a lot of space in a sub-compact car.
The first generation of Alto, was first launched in 1979. Until early 2010 Maruti Suzuki has sold 10 million units of the model making its one of the biggest sales in Japanese and Indian markets.

not that impressive its look the same old ageing alto only cosmetic changes is that price range u can get better cars like spark beat i10 zen waganR ETC as far as engine goes its not an big deal for them to give alto that 1000cc heart as it does duty on the zen waganR its really needs an major facefit

its looks the same slight changes are not that impressive only the headlamp has been changed nothing else as far as engine goes its not an big deal for maruti to give that as the same one is been produce for wangon R zen if that alto was few years back with that looks i would be sure it would be an hit

| Alto is best car in India. I have one & very very happy with it & I do not have any other plan to buy another make/company car other than Alto. It is like family member. Upgration in engine will attract more customers. |
