Honda Jazz with 1.5L Petrol Engine Option

Honda recently launched is premium hatchback model Jazz in India. The model received a lukewarm response from the Indian car buyers mainly owing to its hefty price tag. If the overall response is not extremely encouraging, it is not disappointing either. In spite of being a premium car, Jazz has managed to pull crowds to the showroom and the company booked 1000 Jazz in the first week itself. Deliveries of the new Jazz model have started from June 10 onwards.

“We are happy at the response received by Honda Jazz; we are sure that the customers of Honda Jazz will appreciate the product and help us win new customers,” said Honda Jazz, Mr. Jnaneswar Sen, Vice President, Marketing, Honda Siel Cars India. Jazz will be manufactured at Honda’s Greater Noida plant and sports a localization level of 77% from day one. The Jazz has also been certified to give 16.1 KMPL tested by ARAI.

Current model of Honda Jazz comes with a 1.2 Litre i-VTEC engine generating 90 bhp but Honda is ready to increase the power of the new Jazz already. It intends to launch the 1.5L petrol variant in 2010. Apart from the 1.5L engine, it will also have an optional automatic transmission but that would be at the cost of additional one lakh rupees.

What remains to be seen is that is the Indian customer ready to shell out a price for small car just for its luxury, Honda’s reliability and its brand image.

As it is the Jazz is exorbitantly priced and Honda is doing itself no good by planning to introduce a 1.5 lt new Jazz for an additional 1 lakh rupees. Honda has still to realize that volume driven sales in India are not derived from artificially high pricing.Sophistication and exclusivility in design and other parameters does not entitle a manufacturer to go over the rocks to give such pricing. The price of a hatchback equivalent to a good mid level C category vehicle-preposterous!!!

A lot of buyers, including me and a couple of friends, were eagerly waiting for Jaaz.
The discerning Indian buyer, has been totally disappointed with Honda's exorbitant pricing.
Ex-showroom price of 5-6 Lacs would have ensured an extraordinary winner and customer buying Jaaz in droves.
Honda is now committed to further compound their financial harakiri by unrealistic pricing of 1.5 Ltr Jaaz also.

With the introduction of New Honda Jazz which comes with 1.5 L engine petrol, but what about its dimensions? Lenght is same as old one? Can you furnish all the specifications so hat I can wait for the next year New Honda Jazz.
The cost I feel should be the same as of Old one Jazz and the old one Jazz price should be reduced for l lack rupees.
Can you send me the reply my e-mail to me soon before 4th or 5th July so that I can take decision which car I should buy.
