Honda revealed details of its new hybrid slated for the next month launch. It announced more details about its upcoming new hybrid version. The official name and other details shall be revealed even later.

The new hybrid car would have reduced weight as well as it shall also have reduction in cost in Integrated Motor Assist components, wherever possible. It shall be essentially a dedicated hybrid hatchback model featuring 5-doors and shall take styling cues from FCX Clarity fuel cell car. It shall be an electric-petrol hybrid and shall be produced at Suzuka, Japan. Currently Suzuka produced its Civic hybrid version as well.

"Honda has been at the forefront of hybrid development since it first introduced the American public to hybrid technology with the Insight in 1999," said John Mendel, executive vice president of American Honda. "These new advancements in Honda's technology and production systems will result in cost reductions that will allow us to make hybrid technology available to a whole new generation of buyers."

The company has set the sales targets of selling 200,000 units globally. Honda also plans to launch a Jazz Hybrid and hybrid version of CR-V coupe. It plans to expand in Japan to cut costs and stay competitive.
