BMW introduced new models of BMW 5 series in India last week. The German luxury car maker is geared towards strengthening its presence in the Indian car market. New models are priced in a range of Rs. 36.5 lakh to Rs. 46.8 lakh. The company has introduced 525i and 530i as two new petrol models while BMW 520d, 530d, and 530D Highline are diesel engine variants in the BMW 5 series. The new models shall be available in a range of refined colours such as the new non-metallic Alpine White, metallic Black Sapphire, Monaco Blue, Titanium Silver and Platinum Grey.

"The BMW 5 Series is in the luxury Business Class car segment, and it is our goal to continue providing our customers in India with the highest standards of all-round quality, safety, and perfection to ensure the highest levels of comfort and luxury," said BMW India President Peter Kronschnabl.

BMW has its assembling plant in Chennai where the production capacity has been increased from 1700 units to 3000 units. The company sold 1400 units last year and aims to sell 200 units this year. The company had made initial investments to the core of Rs. 110 crores and plans additional investments of Rs. 3 crores.
